my dabbling in art.

So, I've been wanting to get into art lately. So today, I decided to actually do something about it. I went to Michaels and got me 4 little bottles of paint, masking tape, and 3 paint brushes for a total of $7.64. And I stole 2 canvas' from my best friends garage sale over the weekend. And I saw a link online that caught my attention, and I've been dying to do it myself.
I put masking tape on the plain canvas to make different triangular shapes, painted each of the triangles different shapes, and let it dry. Then took the tape off (should have probably kept it on ideally til completely done), and my sister came up with the good idea of using those fuzzy pipe sticks (the name escapes me at the moment) and smeared the white on for a more "rustic" feel, I guess you could say. Along with get straws and dipping them in the paint and splatting on the white paint as well.
I think for my first dabble in painting, it's not to shabby. We'll see what happens next! I kinda want to do a paper mache using newspapers on a canvas, with a paint accent on top. Who knows? We'll see what happens. I'm kinda excited, hopefully I get somewhat decent at art. I suck at drawing. But if I give me something with "coloring in the lines," I think I'll be fine...
